Having been collecting for over 20 years, written countless
articles on the subject, co-author of three button books and
illustrator of 100s of buttons, I take the hobby very seriously,
buttons on the net are something new to me.

Collection up for grabs
I have a family collection of political and non-political pin back buttons,
political and non-political memorabilia, military pins, buttons, medals etc.
A wide variety of items from 1933 worlds exposition, union buttons.
The pin back buttons occupy 25+notebooks(and still countiung...) under
plastic with that much or more that is yet un-catagorized. There are literally
thousands+ items. Way more than can be practically FAXed, ZEROXed
or photo'd. This collection span 4 generations of my family and was first
started by my Great Uncle.
My Grandfather, my father and both of my brothers added to it over
the years. The one rule was that we couldn't buy a button... we had to talk
it off of the owner. Coming to see the collection would seem to be ideal.
I am assuming you would want to make an offer for the whole collection.
My guess is that the due diligence on a careful look at all that is here would
take the better part of several hours if not more than a day. I am out in very
unfamiliar territory here.. I want to do what is best for all of the members of
my family both past and present as well as what is best for the collection.
It is more than a little difficult for me to approach the consideration to sell
this collection.
I am currently compiling a list of potential participants in the auctioning
of the collection as a whole entity.
